Manchester United star Antony missed training with the Brazil squad on Friday through illness according to reports from their camp.
Brazilian journalist Isabelle Costa confirmed yesterday that the 22-year-old did not feature in training due to the illness and was missing alongside Neymar Jr, who is out for the rest of the group stages, West Ham's Lucas Paqueta and Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker. It is a setback for Antony though after he made his debut at the World Cup during a 2-0 victory over Serbia.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison scored a brace, including an acrobatic second goal, to seal the three points for the Samba Boys. United's winger did well when he replaced the injured Neymar in the latter stages of the contest in Lusail and he would have been hoping to replace the senior Brazilian forward in the next match.

At this stage, it is not clear how long Antony will be missing for Brazil but due to him only suffering with illness, it's hoped he'll be available for their next group stage match with Switzerland that takes place on Monday at 4pm. The former Ajax man was one of Erik ten Hag's key targets in the summer as he looked to strengthen his side's attacking options.
After a long and drawn-out battle with the Amsterdam club for his signature, United eventually managed to secure their man to a deal. On his debut for the Reds, Antony made an instant impact scoring the first during a 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford.
