Ralf Rangnick says Dean Henderson's Manchester United future will not be decided until the summer.
Henderson turns 25 next month and has only played in three games this season, having appeared 26 times last term when he briefly established himself as first-choice goalkeeper.
David de Gea, 31, joined United in 2011 and said earlier this week 'I don't see myself away from Manchester United'. The Spaniard is expected to win an unprecedented fifth Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award.
Henderson is contracted to United until 2025 and De Gea 2023, with the option of an additional year included in both deals. Henderson is prepared to leave permanently and when Rangnick was asked if there was an acceptance at United the England international had to be sold, he replied: "Those are things that needed to be decided in the summer, not now.
"My and our focus is on the upcoming games and those kind of issues regarding goalkeepers and other players are topics for the summer and in the time after the season has been finished."
United host Watford in the reverse fixture of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's final game in charge in the Premier League on Saturday. Watford thrashed United 4-1 on November 20 and Solskjaer was sacked the next morning before Michael Carrick took over as caretaker manager for 10 days.
Since Solskjaer was dismissed, United have lost only once in the Premier League, having been beaten five times on the Norwegian's watch. United have won eight from 16 games under Rangnick, drawing seven in normal time, but they have scored two or more goals in only five matches and Rangnick reiterated they need to improve on that.
"At the time, it was five defeats in the last seven for Ole and obviously morale and confidence were down," Rangnick said. "It was good Michael Carrick and his coaching staff achieved two good results in the Premier League and one important away win at Villarreal in order to qualify for the knockout phase of the Champions League.
"My job since then was to stabilise the team and not to concede as many goals. Until then, I think they conceded more than two goals per game and we have achieved that, we have not achieved as many as goals as they did at the time.
"But obviously as a manager, you always want to progress quicker and this is the next step and we make sure in the next weeks we get more resilient and more stable within our performances within games but also from one game to another.
"This is the next step that we can hopefully achieve with the team."
