Manchester United are open to signing another goalkeeper this summer to offset the expected departure of Dean Henderson.
The 25-year-old remains in talks over a loan move to Nottingham Forest following their return to the Premier League, though there is currently no agreement in place for that proposed deal to include an option to buy.
Henderson has been frustrated by a lack of playing time at Old Trafford and is eager to play regularly next season in order to revive his hopes of making the England squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

Forest are eager to sign a top shot-stopper ahead of their long-awaited return to the top flight, with promotion hero Brice Samba refusing to sign a new deal as he enters the final year of his existing contract.
The Manchester Evening News reported last month that both Karl Darlow and Daniel Bachmann are on United's shortlist as potential back-up goalkeeper signings this summer in order to replace Henderson.
It is also understood United are open to installing Tom Heaton as their second-choice goalkeeper, depending on the calibre of goalkeeper they are able to recruit.
Heaton, 36, rejoined United last year on the assumption he would be their No.2 goalkeeper but he only appeared once as a substitute in the Champions League group stage draw with Young Boys.
United's need for another senior shot-stopper is amplified by the fact that Lee Grant, United's fourth-choice goalkeeper last season, announced his retirement last month and will take up a coaching role at Ipswich this summer.
If a deal for Henderson is completed quickly, then United will look to give a couple of young goalkeepers a chance to be involved with the side during pre-season.
Nathan Bishop has returned from a successful loan at Mansfield Town, and although there is interest from EFL clubs in his signature again, he is most likely set to go on the summer tour before a decision is made.
Matej Kovar is another youngster likely to leave on loan this summer, though he could also form part of Erik ten Hag's summer squad in place of Henderson and Grant. Ondrej Mastny is a candidate to be involved given his steady progress at U23s level.
