United stance on Darwin Nunez transfer amid concern over Liverpool bidding war

Nunez has been valued at €100million (£85million) by Benfica this summer and the Portuguese giants would benefit from significant transfer interest from two of the Premier League's biggest clubs.
Van Gaal warns Jurrien Timber over potential United transfer
Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal has advised Manchester United target Jurrien Timber to stay at Ajax this summer, but believes the youngster has the credentials to play in the Premier League.
Timber, who can operate at both right-back and centre-back, is on United's radar ahead of the transfer window officially opening for business on Friday. United manager Erik ten Hag is understood to be keen on reuniting with the 20-year-old, who is among his leading targets.
Liverpool will need to replace Sadio Mane if he completes a move to Bayern Munich and Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of Nunez, who scored in both legs of the Champions League quarter-final between the two sides this season.
