Manchester United have congratulated David De Gea and his new wife Edurne after the pair were married on Saturday.
De Gea became a free agent the night before his wedding after his contract with United expired. The 32-year-old had been in contract talks for some time, with the club wanting to reduce his £375,000-per-week wages, but little progress increased the likelihood of his exit.
Figures at the club are wanting to 'move on' from De Gea after 12 years at Old Trafford, but concerns regarding Financial Fair Play mean talks will resume over a new deal once the Spaniard returns to England.

He and long-time partner Edurne tied the knot in Menorca on Saturday evening, with the new wife posting a picture of the pair on Instagram. United's official account commented on the post, saying 'Felicidades, David' which means 'Congratulations David'.
United have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent weeks as Erik ten Hag eyes someone who will better fit his tactical plans. Inter Milan's Andre Onana has been a regular link, although the Italian side's £50million valuation is thought to have priced out the Reds.
The Athletic reported on Saturday suggested that the club had approached Feyenoord over a potential move for Justin Bijlow, with the 25-year-old thought to cost considerably less.
De Gea's has attracted transfer interest himself, with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr said to be interested in the free agent. However he remains hopeful he can stay at United for another season, following next week's fresh talks.
