Manchester United are insisting that Marcus Rashford remains a doubt for the clash at St James' Park on Sunday.
The striker pulled out of England duty for the wins against Italy and Ukraine in Euro 2024 qualifying earlier this month and headed to New York for a break. Rashford returned to Man United's Carrington training facility on Monday and began light training.
Rashford, who claimed he was a doubt for the Carabao Cup final at Wembley before going on to score against Newcastle, is said to have picked up a knock in the FA Cup victory over Fulham. It was last month that Rashford went off with a knock against Barcelona in the Europa League and posted an injured emoji on his account.

The World Cup star has not started full training at this stage, although Newcastle will be focusing on their own strengths.
Rashford has bagged 30 goals for club and country this season and his involvement is key for Erik ten Hag. With midfield star Casemiro already suspended the Dutchman is in need of a boost.
Another doubt for Man United will be Austria midfielder Marcel Sabitzer. The player is on loan from Bayern Munich and is enjoying his time at Old Trafford but has picked up a knee injury.
