Manchester United's Fred makes bold prediction about Alejandro Garnacho after goal vs West Ham

Fred has predicted Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho will become one of the best players in the world.

Garnacho won the FA Youth Cup with the Under-18s last season and he was handed his first-team debut by Ralf Rangnick at the end of the campaign, but he's forced himself into Erik ten Hag's plans since his appointment.

The 18-year-old is being carefully handled by Ten Hag and he's been given opportunities to impress on the left wing.

Garnacho started in that position against West Ham in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday night and he scored a late goal to essentially win the game for United, which is something Fred was asked about after full-time.

Fred praised Garnacho for his bright performance and he also predicted he'd become one of the best players in the world.

"Garnacho had a very good game today, with a good goal," Fred told MUTV. "He's already a nice player, a young player and he will be one of the best players in the world, for sure, but today he played well and he needs to keep going."

Fred was also asked about the ability to come from behind in matches and he stressed the importance of belief in the dressing room.

"I'm proud to be part of this squad because everyone is ready to play in the game," he added. "A big win today, we played very well and we had to come back after 1-0 down, to come back and win this game is important.

"It's difficult [to come from behind], sometimes if we're 1-0 down we need to keep going, keep our discipline. We did that in the last games [Barcelona] and today as well, so the squad is important, the players [substitutions] can change the game

"We always need to believe, we have a good team, strong players on the front and in the back, so we need to believe every game. We conceded a goal today but we knew we would score because our front is too strong."
