Christian Eriksen insists he would not look for revenge on Andy Carroll as he returns from an injury caused by the Reading striker.
Eriksen suffered an ankle injury in the FA Cup fourth-round win over Reading at the end of January, following a reckless challenge by Carroll - who was eventually sent off for two bookable offences. The Dane walked off the Old Trafford pitch but assessments the following week confirmed the worst, with an initial return date set for April.
And so it came to pass that he returned off the bench in Saturday's 2-0 win over Everton, although his two-month absence meant he missed out on the Carabao Cup final win over Newcastle and two rounds of Europa League action. Despite that, the United man has not held a grudge over Carroll.

“No, I’m not that type of person,” Eriksen joked, speaking to the UTD podcast. “Maybe in '99 it was different but no, not that. I don’t have that [little black book], no. For me, it was more the thing I was surprised he didn’t get a yellow card or anything like that. 'What is this?' But, no, I'm not in that way [of getting revenge].”
Eriksen has featured in every round of the Carabao Cup until missing the final, but the midfielder was still spotted on the Wembley pitch at full-time celebrating with his teammates - protective boot and all. The midfielder had his hands on the trophy but is seemingly yet to receive his medal.
“I haven’t got it yet, no," he added. "I’m supposed to get one. I will get a medal at some point. It’s different though when you don't play in the final. Obviously [those who played] get it on the pitch, celebrate and do their stuff. And there's me limping around in a boot, trying not to do too much. But still you want to be a part of it.”
