Manchester United have apparently denied that they have held talks with former Liverpool director Michael Edwards.
Multiple reports on Tuesday claimed the Reds were working to bring in the ex-Anfield chief, who left his former employers earlier this year. Edwards orchestrated the signings of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk - among many other current first team stars - in the space of six years at Liverpool.
Chelsea were said to have contacted him about a potential job at Stamford Bridge but to no avail. Edwards left Liverpool to have a year away from the game but reports this week suggested he could have been looking at an early return with United said to be courting him.

However, 90min claims being told by sources at United that they have not spoken to Edwards, who has underlined his intention to see out his full break. In a further blow, it is claimed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is "determined to strike a deal with Edwards" and has been working on coming to an agreement with the Liverpool chief that would see him take up a role at Stamford Bridge at the end of the current season.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato (via Football 365), reports that United may have to do battle with Arsenal if they are to land Sergej Milinkovic-Savic next summer. The midfielder has been linked with an Old Trafford switch over the summer, but the Serb ultimately stayed at Lazio.
Corriere dello Sport, also as per Football365, says he remains a target for Erik ten Hag, despite midfield not being a priority area for the club. However, Arsenal are also keen on Milinkovic-Savic and may make a move in the next two transfer windows.
The playmaker, 27, has fired home four goals and provided seven assists in 14 games so far this season.
