Manchester United are 'preparing' a £115million double swoop for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber and Benfica star Darwin Nunez this summer.
That is according to a report by the Mirror. It is claimed that new manager Erik ten Hag has instructed United to move for the duo, who are described as being 'leading targets'.
United have been heavily linked with both players in recent weeks ahead of the summer transfer window opening in less than a fortnight's time on June 10. Ajax ace Timber — who can operate at both right-back and centre-back — has attracted plenty of attention in recent weeks following Ten Hag's arrival at Old Trafford, and a number of supporters want to see him added to the squad this summer.

Despite not turning 21 until next month, Timber has attracted a wave of admiration in recent months, producing a string of fine performances at Ajax. He is solid in a defensive sense and is not afraid to drift forward with the ball at his feet.
Nunez, meanwhile, is attracting plenty of attention, too. The Benfica striker has been in inspired form this season, scoring 34 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions.
He is being linked with an array of big-name clubs from across Europe and United are among them. Ten Hag is prioritise the addition of a new striker this summer and links connecting Nunez with a move to Old Trafford continue to bubble away.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag is keen on raiding Ajax for another one of his former players, Edson Alvarez. That is according to a report by The Athletic, who claim that the Dutchman is a big admirer of the versatile player.
Capable of playing at both centre-back and defensive-midfielder, Alvarez played a key role in helping Ajax clinch their latest Eredivisie title this season, scooping the club's Player of the Year award. He made 41 appearances in all competitions this term, netting five goals.
It is claimed that Ajax value Alvarez at £18million, meaning he could be a bargain buy for United if he continues to develop on his current trajectory. The 24-year-old joined the Dutch giants from Club America in 2019.
