Manchester United 'prepared' to sell Harry Maguire and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are 'prepared' to sell club captain Harry Maguire this summer, a report by Fichajes claims. The overseas news outlet claims that the England defender is one of five players that the club is willing to offload this summer.

Maguire, who joined United from Leicester City in 2019, has experienced a difficult season this time around and his performances have attracted waves of criticism. Nevertheless, he has been called up to the latest England squad, making it clear that he still has the trust of Gareth Southgate.

However, it is claimed that Maguire could be part of the major overhaul that is expected to take place at Old Trafford this summer. A number of players have experienced nosedives in form this season and the centre-back is one of them.

Maguire, who helped England reach the final of the European Championship last summer, has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season. He has chipped in with two goals.

Meanwhile, United are plotting a summer move for Everton and Brazil striker Richarlison. That is according to a report by Goal Brazil, who claim that United have been 'monitoring' the striker for the last two seasons. The Brazilian joined Everton in 2018 from Watford and has gone from strength to strength, even if this season has been a struggle for both him and the Toffees.

The former Hornets ace, who will turn 25 in May, has been identified as a target by United and it is claimed that he is on their shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window. Signing a new striker is set to be a priority for the club this summer after interim manager Ralf Rangnick made it clear that they need to reduce the age of their current centre-forward options.

Currently, United's senior centre-forward options include Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani, who, between them, boast a combined age of over 70. Cavani is set to leave the club this summer and uncertainty surrounds Ronaldo's future.

Richarlison's future is also far from clear. Signed for £50million almost four years ago, he is highly likely to leave the club if Everton are relegated from the Premier League.

However, the report claims that United have been tracking Richarlison for quite some time, suggesting that they could make a move regardless of what the future holds for Everton. He has scored just five goals in 23 appearances this season, four of which have come in the Premier League.
