A group of 'fed up' Manchester United players want Cristiano Ronaldo to leave before the summer transfer window closes. Chelsea may do a U-turn on their initial stance based on one condition.
The 37-year-old star only made a cameo appearance from the bench during United's home loss to Brighton on the season's opening weekend. Since the loss, the Glazers have been in panic mode and are desperate to sign more players before September 1 to satisfy new manager Erik ten Hag. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Adrien Rabiot are hot on the agenda, whilst moves for the likes of Cody Gakpo and Alvaro Morata could be on the cards. A move for former Stoke and West Ham forward Mark Arnautovic fell through due to fan pressures.

But this flurry of transfer activity coupled with the unease going on behind the scenes for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner could result in him being granted his desired exit. Obviously, either Gakpo, Morata or another forward will need to be signed to fill the void. The destination of his next club remains largely unknown. football.london understands that Todd Boehly was keen earlier in the summer transfer window to make CR7 the first Hollywood-type signing of his new tenure, but Thomas Tuchel blocked this idea with the hope he could sign someone else who he believes fits his system better.
That player seems to be Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and the latest reports are indicating that the Blues are slowly growing more confident, not singing the Barcelona striker. His teammate Frenkie de Jong could also make the switch as Spanish Journalist Gerard Romero confirmed that key 'hours' are ahead in this double transfer saga.
However, it's not guaranteed that the west Londoners will even land on the aforementioned Barcelona targets. Boehly has a lot of work to do on his plate to satisfy Tuchel. Chelsea continues talks with the Blaugrana up north in England, and significant developments are unfolding regarding Ronaldo.
According to The Sun, sources from the United dressing room are indicating that a certain percentage of the dressing room are 'fed up' with the Portuguese' antics throughout the summer to try and force a move away and unsettle the playing squad in the process.
If the Aubameyang move wasn't to receive the 'green light' for whatever reason, it is understood that Tuchel may consider a U-turn on his initial Ronaldo view. The fallout with his teammates is evident for all to see, and an exit is probably best for all parties concerned. Whether his final destination is to be SW6 remains to be seen.
