David de Gea
Made a couple of stops from Robert Lewandowski and Jordi Alba. Could do little about Barcelona's indirect and direct goals from crosses. 6
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Created one of United's best openings but loose at times in defence. A constant presence in attack on another encouraging evening. 7
Raphael Varane
Recovered to deny Lewandowski in the first-half but should have dealt with Raphinha's cross that went all the way in. 6

Luke Shaw
His inexperience at centre half showed a couple of times when he was caught out by Lewandowski and Raphinha. 6
Tyrell Malacia
Could have made more of the space United had on the flanks and advanced into the area to get a good chance but did not take it. 6
Casemiro
His game management was vital to United's attackers terrorising Barcelona's defenders but he blemished his night by ceding possession for Barcelona to level. 7
Fred
The best thing that happened to Fred was he lost Marcos Alonso for the opening goal. He responded with a perfect assist and his performance level grew. 6
Jadon Sancho
Did not make the most of his opportunities with the ball and made a mess of Wan-Bissaka's pull-back. Wasted a better chance at the start of the second-half. 5
Bruno Fernandes
Started on the right but moved inside to create a great chance for Wout Weghorst. Deftly flicked the ball on that was turned in by Jules Kounde. 6
Wout Weghorst
Started behind Rashford but was the furthest forward for a one-on-one that he botched. Worked hard but playing a role he was not signed for. 5
Marcus Rashford
Lively and drew a save from Marc-Andre Ter Stegen with a curling effort before he scored clinically in the second. Skinned Raphinha to create United's second goal. 8
Subs
Alejandro Garnacho
Did not have enough of the ball. 5
Manager
Moved the pieces around up front and it largely paid off even though Sancho and Weghorst struggled. Made an obvious change by replacing Sancho with Garnacho. 7
