Manchester United Player Ratings vs Rangers

Altay Bayindir – 7

United’s hero against Arsenal in the FA Cup was called upon once again, was not really tested but keeping a clean sheet will please the Turkish international.

Leny Yoro – 5.5

The 19-year-old is clearly still adapting to life in England and showed a more assured performance than his display against Southampton however Yoro had several misplaced passes and his foul ruled out United’s goal in the first half.

Matthijs de Ligt – 6

Had the ball in the back of the net before a harsh call by the referee to rule it out for a foul, did not do much wrong but was substituted at half time.

Lisandro Martinez – 6

After a difficult few weeks for Martinez and the whole United defence in general, this result will be greatly received and the Argentinian played his part in keeping a clean sheet – also played a superb pass for the winner.

Amad – 6.5

A slightly underwhelming display from the Ivorian, which is predominantly down to Amad failing to contribute with a goal – was a threat but wasted some good chances.

Christian Eriksen – 7

Christian Eriksen’s corner allowed United to take the lead as his cross forced Jack Butland to punch the ball into his own net and the Dane was a composed figure throughout.

Toby Collyer – 7.5

The youngster put in a strong performance on his European debut, kept things simple and allowed United to tick – while also covering every blade of grass.

Diogo Dalot – 6

Dalot proved to be a threat in the first half, combining well with Alejandro Garnacho on several occasions and did not look out of place when he moved into the back three.

Bruno Fernandes – 8

The Manchester United captain was his usual self, covering a huge amount of distance and creating several chances and scored the winning goal with a superb finish.

Alejandro Garnacho – 7.5

Despite the rumours surrounding Garnacho over a move to Chelsea or Napoli, the Argentinian was the main threat for United.

Joshua Zirkzee – 6.5

The Dutchman was non-existent in the opening 45 minutes, however, his performance in the second half brought more control to the United side.
