Manchester United player ratings as Jadon Sancho and Fred good vs Aston Villa

David de Gea

Had little to do before he was beaten by Leon Bailey's curler and made a decent save in the 84th minute as Villa threatened an equaliser. But then he was at fault for the equaliser. 5

Diogo Dalot

Started the attack that was finished by Jadon Sancho for the first goal and performed consistently again to end a terrific tour on a high. 7

Harry Maguire

Booed by a minority when his name was announced, Maguire was undeterred and prevented an equaliser with a block on the line. 7

Victor Lindelof

Secure in the first-half and the opposite in the second when he allowed Bailey inside to shoot and that gave Villa momentum. 6

Luke Shaw

Had his most proactive half of the tour in the first, assisting Sancho. Caught high up the pitch when Bailey struck and was breached again. 6

Donny van de Beek

Looked like a theatre-goer who had turned up at Glastonbury. At a time where United are going Dutch, Van de Beek was out of touch. 4

Fred

Ten Hag's "connector" lived up to his billing in a fine first-half and Fred's pass unlocked Villa's defence for Matty Cash's own goal. Regained the ball a number of times. 7

Jadon Sancho

Scored the first goal and contributed to the second to cap a fabulous tour. Not majorly involved but United were at the liveliest when Sancho was on the ball. 7

Bruno Fernandes

Probably his weakest performance of the four games as his sloppiness returned but he was involved in the move for the first goal. 6

Marcus Rashford

Involved in both goals, albeit for the second his shot was heading out for a throw-in. Had a progressive tour after an underwhelming start. 7

Anthony Martial

Did not have an outstanding opportunity but his work off the ball and in the build-up play was laudable ujntil Villa got a foothold. 6

Subs

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Annoyed De Gea. 5

Eric Bailly

Booked and outjumped by Calum Chambers. 5

Raphael Varane

Outpaced by Bailey. 5

Tyrell Malacia

More minutes. 6

James Garner

First appearance on tour. 6

Alex Telles

Played in midfield. 5

Zidane Iqbal

More good experience. 6

Hannibal Mejbri

Put himself about. 6

Anthony Elanga

Turned attack into defence. 5

Tahith Chong

Alert on the ball. 6
