Eric Bailly was withdrawn in first-half stoppage time against Watford after colliding with Dean Henderson in Manchester United's penalty area.
Bailly went down after Henderson's leg collided with the side of Bailly's head and neck and a stretcher was readied, although thankfully it wasn't required and the Ivorian was able to walk off the field.
Bailly is believed to have wanted to continue but medical staff took the decision out of his hands and Harry Maguire replaced him ahead of the second half.
Speaking about the injury at half-time, Rio Ferdinand told BT Sport: “He’s been one of the positives in this good run of form they’ve had. He’s one of the ones where you’ve sat and thought, ‘actually, he looks like the difference-maker in that back-line especially’. This is something that has undone his Man United career time and time again, and he’s got another injury today, hopefully it’s not too serious.”
Bailly has been plagued by injuries since joining United in 2016 but has started five of the last six games and many fans felt it was harsh that he was dropped from the side to face Manchester City in midweek.
United's players mobbed Bailly after the final whistle in last week's Premier League win over Aston Villa and Solskjaer spoke of his popularity in the dressing room afterwards.
"You can see today his physicality, his pace and his bravery is second to none really," Solskjaer said. "He's got a style of play that's caused him to get injured a few times and probably muscle fibers have caused some injuries as well.
"You can see how much it means to him but also for the rest of the boys at the end of the game. Because he is such a well-liked player and man in the dressing room.
"Everyone wants him to do well and knows the struggles he's had and we're delighted for him."
