Manchester United have been offered hope in their pursuit of Youri Tielemans, according to reports.
The midfield position remains one of interest to the Reds as they gear up for a busy summer with the centre of the pitch being subject to heavy focus.
Declan Rice and Amadou Haidara are names that have been mooted as additions at Old Trafford, whilst the West Ham captain was previously earmarked as the principal target in September.
Another midfielder that has been linked is Leicester City's Tielemans.
The 24-year-old's contract is due to expire at the end of next season and Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers has remained 'realistic'.
He said via Metro : "‘With his contract running down then I’m pretty sure there will be teams looking at him, but I’m also a realist as well.
"We are real as a football club. You’ll get people asking if we can hang on to these players for the next six or seven years.
"But the reality is that if a player does really well at Leicester, he may want to leave and move on to another club.
"For us, it’s just about being ready for that."
Meanwhile, Express report that new CEO Richard Arnold is eyeing Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman is amongst the list of candidates to take over as the next permanent manager at Old Trafford.
It has been said that with the race for Haaland ending abruptly for the Reds that bringing Ten Hag in at the helm would work in favour of managing young assets, irrespective of the next destination of the Borussia Dortmund forward.
