Leon Goretzka's ongoing situation at Bayern Munich is apparently one that is being closely watched by Manchester United.
That's according to Florian Plettenberg, who states that should Declan Rice opt for a move to the Bundesliga giants this summer, the German midfielder may consider his future in the weeks that follow.
United are known to be in the market for midfield reinforcements with doubts cast over the futures of both Scott McTominay and Fred. Goretzka's current deal at the Allianz Arena is not due to expire until 2026.

“Goretzka: Man Utd is monitoring his situation! MUFC is aware of the fact that his future is uncertain because of Rice,'' posted Plettenberg on Twitter.
“But no concrete talks or negotiations yet. Goretzka is staying calm and his position is clear: He definitely wants to stay as he identifies 100% with FC Bayern! And: Rummenigge supports him.''
Elsewhere, a detailed report from the Daily Mail suggests the Reds are happy to allow club captain Harry Maguire to seek pastures new this summer and are attempting to find willing suitors to purchase the Three Lions international.
Maguire has continued to fall down the pecking order at Old Trafford and at times was seen as the fifth-choice centre-back at the club given Luke Shaw's move into the centre. The former Leicester City man was an unused substitute in the FA Cup final defeat against Manchester City.
