Manchester United 'monitoring' Hirving Lozano and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are 'closely monitoring' Hirving Lozano's situation at Napoli, according to reports.

Though United managed to salvage their transfer window and recruit five key outfield players, there still remain obvious weaknesses in the squad. The forward line is the most obvious, with options remaining limited, especially in the central striker position.

Anthony Martial has missed the majority of the campaign so far with injury and the wantaway Cristiano Ronaldo is struggling to adapt to Erik ten Hag's style. Only the bright early form of Marcus Rashford has offset United's lack of firepower so far, so a new forward may well be on United's shopping list in January as a result and the latest name to be linked is Lozano.

According to Marca, via Corriere dello Sport, the Mexican has become frustrated after losing his starting spot in Naples and is looking for a potential exit in the new year.

Bayern Munich is said to be his favoured destination but United are also credited with interest along with RB Leipzig and Everton. It's added that Napoli would not consider anything less than €30million for Lozano.

Elsewhere, United striker Cristiano Ronaldo was reportedly offered to Serie A giants AC Milan in the summer transfer window, with his agent, Jorge Mendes, attempting to secure a late move away from Old Trafford for the Portuguese international.

As per Gianluca di Marzio, via mbn.com, Mendes tried to engineer a move for the Italian outfit's star attacker Rafael Leao to make room for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner at the San Siro. However, a move failed to materialise and Ronaldo remained with United, where he has struggled under Erik ten Hag so far this season, registering just one goal in eight appearances.
