Manchester United's deadline day signing Marcel Sabitzer has previously revealed he is a huge admirer of former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
The Austrian's move to Old Trafford happened on the final day of the January transfer window after Man United discovered the extent of Christian Eriksen's injury sustained against Reading in the FA Cup.
After moving from RB Leipzig to Bayern Munich in 2021, Sabitzer has struggled to establish a place in the Bayern midfield so he now finds himself in the Premier League.

Gerrard was an inspiration for many players and still is to this day after a 17-year career with Liverpool saw him lift every major trophy apart from the Premier League while making 114 appearances for England.
Sabitzer said back in 2020: "He was a more defensive player than me but his mentality was fascinating to me. He always led the line and carried his team. I looked at that and took it all in. I wanted to play the same way.”
