Erik ten Hag was asked by a fan about Manchester United potentially signing Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe this summer, and gave a tongue-in-cheek "why not?" in response.
Ten Hag is planning to strengthen his squad once again this forthcoming summer. The Dutchman is understood to have pinpointed the additions of a new striker and a new central-midfielder as his leading objectives.
United could also bring in a new right-back and have held talks about the possibility of signing Jeremie Frimpong from German club Bayer Leverkusen. That, however, will depend on the futures of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot.

United, as has been well-documented, are going to focus almost all of their energy on drafting in a new striker and Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane is Ten Hag's top target. Napoli star Victor Osimhen is another name that they are running the rule over.
One player who won't be turning out for United next season is Kylian Mbappe - but that didn't prevent an eager United fan from asking Ten Hag the question as he rolled into Carrington recently.
The fan asked him to bring in Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Bellingham, who is a genuine target this summer, to which Ten Hag smiled and replied: "Mbappe and Bellingham - why not?"
As Ten Hag drove away, smiling and waving to those who had gathered outside the training ground, another supporter shouted: "Erik ten Hag, we trust you. God bless you, man."
Ten Hag had a smile on his face throughout the short discussion with the United fans who had gathered, once again highlighting his willingness to interact with the supporters. He will have ambitions of strengthening his squad as quickly as possible next season, ahead of, hopefully, mounting a Premier League title charge.
