Manchester United make Alejandro Garnacho and Hannibal Mejbri squad decisions for Arsenal clash

Alejandro Garnacho has been named in the Manchester United squad for their trip to face Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.

The Argentinian winger, who was on the bench for the first team's defeat to Liverpool earlier in the week, will once again be part of Ralf Rangnick's squad for the match at the Emirates on Saturday lunchtime. Garnacho, 17, was not named in the United U23 squad for their match against Arsenal on Friday evening, with the Manchester Evening News understanding it is because he is with the senior side.

Hannibal Mejbri, who impressed with the tenacity he displayed in a cameo against Liverpool on Tuesday night, does start at Old Trafford in the youth fixture, which suggests he won't be part of the side that plays in London this weekend. Raphael Varane and Scott McTominay are both part of the United squad for Saturday's Premier League clash with Arsenal.

United's players arrived at Manchester Airport on Friday afternoon for the flight to the capital ahead of Saturday's crucial fixture at the Emirates. Arsenal's midweek win against Chelsea has strengthened their position in the race for fourth and Ralf Rangnick's side are now three points behind the Gunners and Tottenham.

Both of those sides have a game in hand, although it is against each other, but United will feel they need a win at the Emirates to get their own top-four hopes back on track. Varane has missed the last three games for United with muscular problems. McTominay has missed the same three fixtures but was on the bench at Anfield on Tuesday, although he hadn't trained before that game and was only there in case of emergencies.

Rangnick has also confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will be back in the squad. The 37-year-old returned to training on Wednesday, having missed the game with Liverpool due to compassionate leave after the death of his baby boy.
