Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly preparing for Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Old Trafford, with RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko one of his main targets.
According to The Telegraph, Ten Hag is keen to bring 19-year-old Sesko to Old Trafford as a long-term replacement for Ronaldo. The 37-year-old has eight months left on his contract, and despite being welcomed back into the first team, it appears the club are now planning for life without the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
Although Sesko has agreed a deal to sign for RB Leipzig for the 2023/24 season, it is believed that the Slovenian striker can still be tempted with a move to Old Trafford. After a heavy summer of spending at Old Trafford, it appears that any deal will likely be after the upcoming January transfer window.

Elsewhere, Football League World report that United are braced for a bid from Middlesbrough for Zidane Iqbal, as the Championship side's newly appointed manager Michael Carrick lines up a move for the teenager.
The former United coach and interim manager was announced as the new permanent manager at Middlesbrough last month. It now seems that Carrick is wasting no time in using his connections at Old Trafford, as his club eye up a move for Iqbal ahead of the January transfer window.
It appears that Carrick is hoping to use his United links to broker a deal. They report that any discussions are likely to be regarding a loan move, given how highly the midfielder is regarded at the club.
Having been named in all of United's Europa League squads so far this season, Iqbal is still yet to feature in a competitive match under Ten Hag. Despite impressing against Liverpool in pre-season, it now appears that a loan to the Championship side will most likely be his best route to regular first-team football this term.
