Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle's top-four rivals' injury and suspension issues

Newcastle United will be aiming to revive their challenge for the top four when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to St James' Park on Sunday.

The Magpies dropped to sixth place last weekend after Liverpool condemned bitter rivals Manchester United to an historic 7-0 defeat to leapfrog Newcastle in the table.

Eddie Howe's side are four points adrift of the Champions League places, but boast two games in hand on fourth-place Tottenham. Liverpool only lead Newcastle by one-point, and have played a game more than the Magpies.

But considering Liverpool's recent revival, and with outsiders such as Fulham, Brighton and Brentford pushing their way up the table, the race for European qualification is very much alive.

With that in mind, ChronicleLive have rounded up all the injury and suspension news for every club battling it out to play in Europe next season.

Manchester United

Victor Lindelof is expected to be back from the knock which kept him out of Manchester United's humiliating 7-0 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday.

Casemiro is a doubt for the Real Betis game and will be assessed by the club's medical staff in the coming days. Martial has suffered yet another season of injury troubles but could be set to return before the international break.

Christian Eriksen suffered an ankle injury in January and will remain out until late-April, while his replacement Marcel Sabitzer, will be unavailable when Man United welcome Betis to Old Trafford on Thursday after picking up a knock.

The Austrian midfielder is not expected to be out of action long-term, and could even return against Southampton on Sunday. Donny van de Beek was ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury in January.

Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris and Ryan Sessegnon could be available once again after the international break. Lloris has been out since January with a knee injury, while Sessegnon has been missing for the same period of time with a hamstring issue.

Yves Bissouma underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture to his left ankle in February and is still absent.

Elsewhere, Rodrigo Bentancur is out for the remainder of the season with a ruptured cruciate ligament injury in his left knee.

Liverpool

Joe Gomez has been absent for the last three games with a muscle injury. Jurgen Klopp is not expected to rush him back, although he may be ready for the UEFA Champions League second leg against Real Madrid next week.

Naby Keita missed Liverpool's historic win over Man United with a knock, but the midfielder should be back for Saturday's trip to Bournemouth.

Luis Diaz has been sidelined since October and has faced further setbacks in his recovery from a knee injury. The Colombian winger is likely to return after the international break.

Thiago has missed the last six games with a thigh injury, and Klopp admitted last week that the Spaniard was still in rehab.

Calvin Ramsay was forced to have surgery on a knee injury and will miss the rest of the season. Arthur Melo remains unavailable and is yet to play a single minute in the Premier League.

Fulham

Joao Palhinha received a two-match suspension after picking up his 10th league booking of the season in a 1-1 home draw against Wolves last month.

He missed Fulham's 3-2 defeat at Brentford on Monday, and will serve the final game of his suspension against league leaders Arsenal at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Arsenal loanee Cedric Soares is also ineligible to face his former club. Tom Cairney missed the trip to Brentford with an ankle injury, while Layvin Kurzawa is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee ligament injury in training.

Neeskens Kebano was ruled out for 'several months' after sustaining a ruptured Achilles back in November.

Brighton

Levi Colwill has been unavailable since Brighton's 3-0 win over Liverpool in January, but played 45 minutes for the under-21s in their 3-1 win over Wolves on Sunday.

Tariq Lamptey was forced off after just 16 minutes during Brighton's 4-0 win over West Ham last weekend, but Roberto De Zerbi confirmed the injury was not a major issue.

Jakub Moder is back in training after a year long absence. The Polish midfielder suffered an ACL injury in April last year, but his long road back to full fitness is now almost complete. Adam Lallana is not expected to feature for the rest of this season.

Brentford

Brentford are without any serious injury issues at this stage, with second-choice goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha, who is out with an ankle injury, their only absentee.
