Manchester United Legends player ratings as Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Carrick good vs Liverpool FC Legends

Raimond van der Gouw

Couldn't do anything with the goal, but made smart saves in the first half from Sissoko and Aurelio and looked pretty assured between the sticks. 7

Antonio Valencia

Often had acres of space down the right but lacked the speed to utilise it and his crossing was occasionally wasteful. 6

Jaap Stam

Still a commanding presence at the back and had Voronin in his pocket in the first half. Led the backline well in the second half. 7

Ronny Johnsen

The partnership with Stam looks natural and the less heralded of the central defenders was comfortable throughout, especially when in possession. Nearly scored with a towering header. 7

Danny Pugh

Set up the first-half goal for Berbatov with a silky touch and snapped into challenges, to the extent he forced Kvarme off the pitch in the first few minutes. 7

Michael Carrick

Still got a wonderful range of passing as he showed in his role for Berbatov's brilliant opener. Nutmeg on a despairing Xabi Alonso a moment to savour. 8

Karel Poborsky

Turned up with a cropped haircut and like Samson seemed to have lost his powers. Struggled to get involved in the game either centrally or out wide. 5

Darren Fletcher

Still employed by United and the old fires clearly still burn. Snapped into a few challenges and used the ball astutely at times. Played a slightly advanced role. 7

Darron Gibson

The low key member of United's midfield trio but did play some smart forward passes and still looks fit. 7

Fraizer Campbell

Looked like he was in the side for his legs but didn't use them enough. Got an earful from Berbatov for not offering an out ball in the first half. 5

Dimitar Berbatov

As Jose Enrique said on LFC TV's half-time show, even Alisson wouldn't have saved that volley. A stunning goal in front of the Kop and looked a class apart on the ball. 8

Substitutes

Kevin Pilkington

Didn't have a lot to do. 6

Eric Djemba Djemba

Sat in the back four and solid enough. 7

Jesper Blomqvist

No real impact. 5

Reece Brown

Imposing presence at the back and one good tackle on Robbie Keane. 7

Denis Irwin

Little time to make an impact. 6

Roy Keane

Booed when he came on and every subsequent touch. Loved it. 7
