Romeo Beckham, the son of Manchester United icon David, has penned a one-year deal with Brentford’s B team following a successful loan spell.
The 20-year-old moves from Inter Miami, the franchise co-owned by his father. Romeo joined the Bees on loan in January and made 15 appearances for the club’s second side.
The B team is a mix of 17 to 21-year-olds who play friendlies against the academies of other professional outfits. Romeo, formerly of Arsenal’s academy, unpacked his thoughts about moving back to England full-time to pursue a football career.
“It’s the best feeling, honestly. I’m so excited,” he said. “They’ve welcomed me from day one, I’ve loved every second of it.

"It’s obviously a different experience to Miami. It’s a great experience being able to play against men’s teams [in the Premier League Cup].”
Speaking about the decision to sign Romeo permanently, Brentford B boss Neil MacFarlane said: "We added Romeo to our squad in January and he's been fantastic for the group.
"He's had a terrific end to the season in terms of his recent match against Manchester City where he showed what he's learned during his loan with us.
"We've continued to develop him in and out of possession and we look forward to him coming back in good spirits to continue working with him next season."
Speaking back in January upon his initial arrival, Thomas Frank warned onlookers not to make comparisons between Romeo and his father. “You can't compare [father and son]. He is here for a reason, because we think he is a good player.
"[We are] pleased to see him doing well, pleased to see the performance he had in the last game and when you have players, either permanent or on loan, it is for a reason.
“It is either for getting the team to perform, or to extend the loan deal and make it a permanent deal, so we just hope that he keeps progressing and makes it very interesting for us."
