Manchester United legend David Beckham has announced that he is partnering up with Netflix for a new documentary series about his life and career.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the former England captain broke the news about an as-yet untitled Netflix series that will bring fans never before seen footage. The series will be directed and produced by Academy Award winners Fisher Stevens and John Battsek.
The series does not have a release date yet, but in a statement today, Netflix confirmed that the documentary will show the journey that Beckham went on from "his working-class roots in East London to his career as one of the most iconic and successful football players of all time".

The Inter Miami co-owner and United great wrote on Instagram: "I' m excited to confirm that I am partnering with @Netflix on a documentary series about my life and career. The series will feature unseen archive, untold stories as well as interviews with the people who have been a part of my journey.
"The series is directed and produced by Academy Award winners @fisherstevens and John Battsek. Watch this space… @studio99."
Beckham's post featured a series of photos that showed him in a United shirt being held aloft by fans, one of him as a young child and one from the present day in a foreshadowing of the journey that fans can expect to see when the documentary is released.
Netflix have had major success within the world of sport recently with series that include Michael Jordan's "The Last Dance" and "Sunderland 'Til I Die", which should give fans hope that this new series will continue the trend of the streaming giant producing thrilling sporting documentaries.
