Manchester United 'learn new Goncalo Ramos valuation' and more transfer rumours

Goncalo Ramos would now reportedly cost nearly triple his pre-World Cup valuation after a breakthrough tournament in Qatar.

The striker bagged a hat-trick in Portugal’s 6-1 last 16 win over Switzerland on what was his first international start. The 21-year-old is a product of Benfica’s academy system and has had a stellar season with the first team so far.

Ramos has netted 14 goals in 21 games for the league leaders, who are unbeaten in all competitions so far this term. He has also acted as a provider too, recording six assists including two in one game in the season’s opener against Arouca.

However, the youngster failed to prevent Portugal from suffering a shock 1-0 quarter-final loss to Morocco. But his showings in Qatar have apparently caught the attention of a number of European giants, including Manchester United.

His displays at the World Cup have also seen his valuation price rocket. The Express claim Ramos was valued at around £25million before the tournament but could now fetch up to £70m in the summer.

While a striker is high up on the transfer agenda for Erik ten Hag, a midfielder is less so. It may, then, come less of a blow to learn that Leeds are standing firm on offers for Tyler Adams in January.

That’s according to TEAMtalk, who claim United hold a ‘genuine’ interest in the USMNT captain. However, Jesse Marsch is determined not to let the 23-year-old leave Elland Road with the player only arriving in the summer.

Adams featured in the USA’s goalless draw with England at the World Cup as the Americans made it through to the last 16 where they bowed out to the Netherlands in a 3-1 defeat. He has played in every game bar one for Leeds this term and is an essential part of their side.
