Manchester United have been linked with a shock move to re-sign Memphis Depay. The Dutchman spent just 18 months at United earlier in his career before going on to star for Lyon and now Barceona.
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo has now claimed that Depay is poised to ask for a free transfer from Barcelona this winter. And it adds that United are on a list of clubs that would be interested in handing him a deal.
It also says Depay has no intention of extending his deal at the Nou Camp - which expires this season - after just two league outings for Xavi's side this term.

He arrived at Barca on a free transfer in the summer of 2021 but has quickly fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha. Tottenham and Chelsea are also said to be interested in Depay.
Meanwhile, United are also said to have set their sights on Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez.
The 21-year-old has scored three and assisted three so far this term and has played a big part in Benfica's remarkable unbeaten record this season.
According to Record Portugal, United are the “main club” interested in Fernandez and are said to be “crazy” about signing him. It also cites Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester City as other clubs circling around the midfielder.
