Manchester United are said to be 'interested' in signing highly-rated Benfica midfielder Joao Neves. That is according to a report by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, as cited by the Express, who claims that United could 'explore' a deal for the youngster.
Neves, who will turn 19 in September, is considered as one of the hottest talents in Portugal after bursting onto the scene during the 2022/23 campaign. After impressing at academy level, he was promoted to Benfica's first-team squad and given the opportunity to impress at senior level.
He ended the season with 20 appearances to his name, three of which came in the Champions League. He scored one goal and grabbed one assist in those 20 matches.

Neves, who is a defensive-midfielder by trade, has been capped at Under-21s level by Portugal, as well as at other age groups. He reportedly has a very high ceiling and is considered as a star in the making.
He can also operate as a modern-day No.8, capable of conducting a midfield and dictating proceedings.
Staying with Benfica, club president Rui Costa believes United will pay the club's £69million asking price for Goncalo Ramos. The 22-year-old is a player United are watching as they seek a centre forward.
And Costa feels United will stump up the cash, according to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha.
