Manchester United have been handed an injury boost ahead of Sunday’s derby with Manchester City.
The visitors were at risk of heading into the clash with just one fit striker in Cristiano Ronaldo, but Erik ten Hag explained on Friday that this was now not the case. The Reds are on a four-game winning streak in the league although they haven’t played a top-flight game in nearly a month due to fixture postponements.
United have suffered defeat to Real Sociedad and secured victory over Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League since their last league outing. Both Manchester teams have injury problems heading into the weekend, with United suffering a new setback.

Harry Maguire
The United captain picked up a knee injury in England’s 3-3 Nations League draw with Germany on Monday. The defender came in for criticism after being at fault for two goals in the contest.
He was seen limping out of Wembley following the game and United confirmed on Thursday he was unavailable for Sunday. No time frame for his return has yet been specified.
Anthony Martial
Martial has only enjoyed 45 minutes of action this season due to hamstring and Achilles injuries. His second-half display against Liverpool peaked with his assist for Marcus Rashford’s winner and fans will be pleased to hear he is back in contention for Sunday.
Ten Hag said: "Anthony Martial has been training with the group all week, really happy with that situation.”
Marcus Rashford
It’s also good news for Rashford, with the striker back in training after suffering an injury of his own which kept him out of the international break. Ten Hag said he was “happy” to have the attacker back after missing the win over Sheriff.
Rashford has scored three goals in his last four games, firing home in the triumphs over Liverpool and Arsenal. His form has seen him move ahead of Ronaldo in the pecking order.
Donny van de Beek
The Dutchman finds himself a long way from the dream reunion with Ten Hag. Van de Beek has enjoyed only a total of 19 minutes during three cameo appearances this season.
He hasn’t featured since the Liverpool win and was not included in the matchday squad for the past three fixtures. There was no mention of him in Thursday’s press conference.
Facundo Pellistri
The young winger has missed every United game so far after suffering a calf injury against Atletico Madrid in pre-season but featured for Uruguay in their 1-0 defeat to Iran during the international break so is now back in a position to play if called upon.
Martin Dubravka
The goalkeeper had to withdraw from Slovenia’s squad with a groin injury. He headed back to Carrington where he was assessed ahead of the weekend.
