Manchester United icon Roy Keane produces hilarious goal celebration after slamming Brazil

Less than 48 hours after slamming Brazil's goal celebrations during their World Cup last-16 victory over South Korea on Monday evening, former Manchester United captain Roy Keane was celebrating a goal himself on Wednesday.

Following the conclusion of the round-of-16 fixtures on Tuesday, which saw both Morocco and Portugal progress to the quarter-finals, the World Cup entered a two-day break, ahead of the last-eight ties commencing on Friday. Croatia take on Brazil in the first of the four quarter-final clashes at 3pm GMT on Friday afternoon.

The first of the two rest days meant that it was a day away from work for many journalists, TV presenters and pundits alike. The tournament started on November 20 and there has been at least one game every day since, in most cases four.

Britain's two main broadcasters, BBC and ITV, have covered the tournament extensively so far, providing coverage of each and every game between them and expert analysis from their teams of pundits. The likes of Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Keane have regularly appeared on ITV, while the likes of Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand and Alex Scott have been providing analysis for BBC.

On Wednesday, however, the two sets of broadcasters came together to participate in a football match, with former United ace Keane scoring what was described by the broadcaster as the 'golden goal'. He fired the ball past no other than Sky Sports colleague and former Manchester City defender Micah Richards, who was acting as the goalkeeper.

Keane, moving away from the serious, no-nonsense side we are all so used to seeing on TV, celebrated the goal in dramatic fashion by taking off his T-shirt and swirling it around above his head. He then jumped over a wheelie bin before being mobbed by his teammates.

A tweet shared by ITV Football's Twitter account, said: "A day off for the @ITVSport team today in Doha so of course we played football. So enjoy this glorious moment as Roy Keane scores the golden goal against none other than special guest @MicahRichards. Fancy a rematch @BBCSport?"

It was somewhat ironic that Keane celebrated in such a jovial way after hitting out at Brazil's celebrations in their 4-1 win over South Korea. The Brazilians, who scored four times in the first half, celebrated each goal by dancing as a group, which even included manager Tite for one of the goals.

Blasting their actions, Keane said: "Fantastic finish by Vinicius, great start to the game. But I've never seen so much dancing.

"I can't believe what I'm watching, I can't believe what I'm watching, it's like watching Strictly [Come Dancing]. I don't like this. People say it's their culture. But I think that's really disrespecting the opposition.

"It's four goals, and they are doing it every time. I don't mind so much the first jig, it's the one after that, and the manager getting involved. I'm not happy about it. I don't think it's good at all."
