Manchester United have reportedly entered talks with one of Erik ten Hag’s Ajax players.
The Dutch coach is expected to bring over at least one of his assets from the Eredivisie champions when he becomes boss at Old Trafford this summer. Two names that have been hotly linked with a switch are Antony and Jurrien Timber.
The former has been most touted with a move to United. The winger may be brought in to provide better competition for the likes of Anthony Elanga and Jadon Sancho.

But, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, it is Timber who United have held talks with first. This comes after the Daily Mail reported that ten Hag had already held talks about United’s summer strategy in Amsterdam last week.
He is reportedly very eager to bring in the centre-half, with Bayern Munich also interested in the 20-year-old. However, the German giants look set to miss out on a deal with Timber having already spoken to United’s management.
Meanwhile, Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri has offered United some hope over a possible move for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The midfielder has been repeatedly linked with a switch to Old Trafford this summer.
Ex-Chelsea boss Sarri has been vocal about his desire to keep the player. But recent comments have perked the ears of those in pursuit of the 27-year-old.
He indicated that if Milinkovic-Savic does leave the club, it will not be to a fellow Serie A team but instead to an outfit abroad. He said (via TuttoMercato): “Speaking with the president, I am convinced that if he goes away, and it is not an easy thing, he will not stay in Italy.”
