Edinburgh’s Murrayfield is set to host a glamour friendly this summer when Manchester United face Lyon in a star-studded pre-season clash this summer with Scott McTominay in line for a homecoming.
From Marcus Rashford to Bruno Fernandes, five-times Champions League winner Casemiro to World Cup-winning defender Lisandro Martinez, many Manchester United fans across the nation will be able to see their favourites in Scotland at the nation’s home of rugby. Ligue 1 outfit Lyon boast stars such as World Cup winners Nicolas Tagliafico and Jerome Boateng, whilst former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele is almost certain to be absent as his contract ends next month.
Liverpool previously played Napoli in the Edinburgh venue and attracted a crowd of over 65,000. Scottish sides have been rumoured to be lining up similar glamour ties in previous seasons, however, it is just the English and French giants who are confirmed so far.
