Manchester United reportedly have a 'genuine interest' in Roma striker Tammy Abraham as the Reds look to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, writing for CaughtOffside, United are interested in a move for the 25-year-old frontman, who has registered 34 goals and 10 assists in 82 appearances for the Serie A outfit. While Abraham has only found the back of the net on seven occasions this term, he played an important role in Roma winning the inaugural Europa Conference League last season.
United are expected to add attacking reinforcements at the end of the campaign following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in November. The Reds signed Wout Weghorst on loan until the summer, but the Dutchman has struggled since arriving at Old Trafford in January.

"For Manchester United, the admiration for Abraham is very genuine," said Jacobs. "Ten Hag likes the player. But like Chelsea there are others ahead of him in the queue. We know Manchester United love Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, as in fact do Chelsea. Manchester United won’t bill Abraham as a ‘back-up’ to Osimhen, but it’s not a bad way of putting it."
Elsewhere, a report from Football Insider claims that United are in the 'chase' to sign Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda, with Erik ten Hag keen to add another full-back to his squad. It states that the Reds are keen on the 18-year-old defender after previously being linked with him in January.
