Marcus Rashford believes there is a "buzz" around Carrington after new boss Erik ten Hag made an impression in his first week of training as Manchester United manager. The United players not involved in the June internationals returned to pre-season training at the start of the week and they've had the first opportunity to experience Ten Hag's methods at Carrington.
Rashford is already excited to work with the 52-year-old having seen first-hand his attention to detail on the training pitches. Despite it being a smaller squad to work with this week, Ten Hag has got his ideas across and Rashford can already see it having an impact.
"We have got that feeling of excitement and that buzz around the training ground again and so it is definitely positive going into pre-season," he told MUTV.

"It is just about, one, getting the principles right of how Erik wants us to play and the details, and, two, enjoying it. In the first week of training we have done both and everyone is looking forward to going on the tour and putting what we have done in training into the first games.”
United were in desperate need of a lift after the end of a disastrous season in 2021/22, finishing sixth and missing out on Champions League football. Rashford endured a difficult campaign and the wheels came off for United in spectacular fashion, resulting in some heavy defeats.
Ten Hag is aiming to provide a lift after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked last October and Ralf Rangnick failed to make an impact as interim manager. Rashford believes a fresh approach from a training ground manager such as Ten Hag can have a benefit.
"I think for me, it is just fresh ideas, fresh tactics and a new personality that has been added to the team. I am looking forward to working with him but also for us to give ourselves time as well to fit into what he wants us to do and to really feel natural doing it," the forward said.
"That is what he wants us to do, for it to be second nature doing the things he wants us to do. Those things do take time but it is a challenge we are all looking forward to.”
The United squad will be boosted by the return of the internationals to training this week, before flying out to Bangkok on Friday to begin a 16-day pre-season tour that includes four friendly fixtures.
Pictures and videos posted from Carrington this week have shown the balls are out on the grass early in pre-season and Rashford has noticed the detail Ten Hag puts into his sessions. He had a reputation in Holland for focusing on the small details and that is already coming across at United.
"Don't get me wrong, it has been tough, but we have all enjoyed the training sessions and we are mixing it up as well. We are not just doing all football and all running, we are doing a little bit of both so it's fun and it's good signs looking forward," said Rashford.
"He is very detailed out on the grass and even in the rules of each game. Like I said, it is all fresh and when something is fresh it is good for the mind and good for the body, so we are all looking forward to working with him and hopefully we continue to improve. That is the main thing that we want to do.”
