Marcus Rashford will hold out on signing a new contract at Manchester United until assessing what prospective new owners can offer him, according to reports.
Rashford will enter the final 12 months of a four-year deal come summer and has been in talks with the club for some time as current owners the Glazers try and tie him down to a fresh deal. Those in charge at United are reportedly trying to impose a salary cap in order to avoid a repeat of the situation that saw Cristiano Ronaldo earn far more than anyone else in the squad.
However that decision limits the maximum amount they can offer the in-form Rashford, whose 27 goals in all competitions this season is almost three times anyone else at the club - Bruno Fernandes has 10. And now the Sun reports that the boyhood Red will further stall talks until new owners are installed, holding to see what they may offer him.

The report adds that the 25-year-old has been offered a five-year deal at the maximum of £300,000-per-week, a supposed 50% increase on his current £200,000-per-week wages, but he is aware the next deal he signs could be the biggest of his career.
Elsewhere, Spanish outlet Cadena SER reports that United-linked Gabriel Veiga would prefer a move to Real Madrid over any of the several Premier League suitors.
Erik ten Hag's side were one of several to have been linked with interest in the young Celta Vigo star last week, following a brilliant season in La Liga with nine goals and three assists in 25 appearances. The 20-year-old has emerged as one of Europe's most exciting young talents, attracting interest from England as well as Spanish pair Madrid and Barcelona.
And the most recent report suggests a move to the Bernabeu would be preferred to leaving his native country for England, with Carlo Ancelotti's side ready to activate the €40million release clause inserted into his most recent contract, signed last summer.
