Manchester United fans think they can tell what Steve McClaren told Ten Hag after West Ham win

Manchester United supporters were quick to react to an exchange between Erik ten Hag and Steve McClaren after the Reds' FA Cup win over West Ham on Wednesday night.

The Reds came from a goal down to secure a 3-1 victory over the Hammers in the fifth round of the competition, thanks to an own goal from Nayef Aguerd and strikes from Alejandro Garnacho and Fred. David Moyes' side went in front in the 54th minute through Said Benrahma, but United were level in the 77th minute.

It appeared as though the game was heading for extra-time, but Garnacho - who started the game in place of Marcus Rashford - scored a fine goal late on in the clash to give United their first lead in the tie. Brazilian midfielder Fred added a third goal for United in stoppage time to set up a quarter-final clash with Fulham.

After the game, while the coaches were exchanging their customary handshakes, McClaren was keen to give credit to manager Ten Hag, with United's number two appearing to tell the Dutchman, "You did it, it was your winning mentality".

The Reds boss has received widespread praise for his ability to change matches with his substitutions and tactical tweaks. Both of his substitutions - Casemiro and Fred - had an impact after coming on, while the decision to keep Garnacho on the pitch proved the right one.

United fans were quick to react to the embrace between Ten Hag and McClaren, with several people praising the pair for their impact at Old Trafford this term.

Ten Hag's men remain the only side in England capable of winning four trophies this season following their Carabao Cup final victory on Sunday. United are three FA Cup match wins away from a second domestic trophy, while they remain in the Europa League following the victory over Barcelona. Moreover, the Reds currently sit third in the Premier League table, 11 points off leaders Arsenal but with a game in hand.
