Manchester United fans believe they have spotted a fresh clue that Alejandro Garnacho is set to be handed the No.7 squad number.
The iconic number has been worn by a long list of United legends such as George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo. It has been left vacant since the latter's controversial departure from Old Trafford last November after his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.
Speculation has been rife as to who, if anyone, may be handed the honour of wearing the number next season, with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Antony and Marcus Rashford all thought to be worthy candidates. It has been no secret that Garnacho would love to have the squad number, with his Instagram handle being 'agarnacho7'.
Garnacho's also made no secret of his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo - meaning he would no doubt be delighted to be handed the squad number previously work by the Portuguese legend. The Manchester Evening News understands that United are considering making Garnacho their new No.7 - meaning he could be the first teenager to take the jersey since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2003.
