Manchester United fans slam Glazers after kit launch

A number of Manchester United supporters used the launch of the club's 2023/24 home kit as an opportunity to vent further anger at the Glazer family and the ongoing takeover saga.

It is more than seven months since the American family put the club up for sale and they are still no closer to making a decision on who could become the Reds' next custodian. Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe have established themselves as the leading contenders and have both tabled a collection of bids.

Sheikh Jassim wants to secure complete control of the club while Ratcliffe wants a majority stake. However, the Glazers are still yet to decide on their preferred bidder, so the saga is dragging on and on.

United supporters, understandably, are becoming increasingly frustrated with the situation and want a resolution to be reached sooner rather than later. As a result of the Glazers' dawdling, the club is being left behind in the transfer market.

Aside from seeing a handful of bids turned down for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, it has been a slow start to the summer for United and manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman is desperate to add to his squad and build on the foundations that were laid in 2022/23.

The United boss wants to sign a first-choice goalkeeper, a central-midfielder and a world-class striker at the very least before the window closeson September 1. Though there is plenty of time left, United's slow start to the window is resulting in supporters' frustrations reaching an all-time high.

Therefore, unsurprisingly, United's supporters used the release of the club's new home shirt on Tuesday morning to unleash all of their anger and frustrations, urging the Glazers to sell up and the club to speed up its recruitment process.
