In recent weeks, Manchester United have upped the intensity of their protests against the Glazer Family. After a disappointing season and the owner's failure to fulfil some of the promises that they put forward when the European Super League collapsed last year.
The Glazers promised among other things that serious improvements would be made to Old Trafford, which the club are starting to draw up plans for, but also that they would implement a fan share scheme, which there have been no announcements on since it was suggested. And the United fans have had enough.
Organised by fan group 'The 1958', the first march against the Glazers happened before the Norwich City fixture at Old Trafford. Further protests were held ahead of the Chelsea game and they extended into Old Trafford with banners and anti-Glazer chants.

Further protests are set to be held ahead of the Brentford game with details yet to be announced. The idealistic hope is that the protests will convince the Glazers to sell the club but the more realistic end goal is that an outcry from the fanbase will cause the owners to follow through with the promises they made in the fan forum after the failed ESL proposal.
However, United fans are not happy with how the protests have been viewed by people outside the club. The consistent questioning of why the fanbase is unhappy with the Glazers after they've spent so much money in the transfer market is one narrative which has riled them up on multiple occasions.
And now Gary Lineker has become the target of their anger. The Match of the Day host posted a faked image on his social media which seemed to show the protesters holding their banner up incorrectly and making them the object of ridicule from rival fans.
And they made their anger at Lineker known on social media, either for sharing a Photoshopped image or an image of the fans setting up (the comments could not decide) with a mocking caption. These are some of the replies from Twitter:
