Manchester United supporters are hoping to see Donny van de Beek back on the pitch soon after his rare start in the Premier League was marred by a horror tackle and injury scare.
Van de Beek's introduction was among four changes in the starting XI on Tuesday night as United got down to business against Bournemouth in the Premier League - with goals from Casemiro, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford putting them in control to tee up their sixth consecutive win in all competitions. But the match was not without its drawbacks.
With games continuing to come thick and fast upon a return to domestic action, United are close to full-strength when it comes to injuries and suspensions. However, the early prognosis does not look good for Van de Beek after he was subjected to a nasty challenge from Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi.

It went unpunished and unchecked by the much-maligned VAR at the time, but still images from the incident are not for the faint-hearted with Van de Beek laying in some pain on the pitch. Fortunately for the rarely seen Dutch playmaker, he was able to walk away following treatment from the medical team.
Van de Beek was replaced by Alejandro Garnacho as a result with only 42 minutes on the clock.
Before that, the former Ajax favourite had shown one or two neat touches in the number 10 position, but this was billed as a massive night for him as he strives to command regular game-time two years on from his transfer to Old Trafford from Amsterdam. But his wellbeing is the first priority right now.
United supporters watching the action unfold were quick to express their sympathy for Van de Beek while arguing the challenge he was on the end of warranted punishment either from on-field officials or VAR.
