Manchester United fans send message to the board after Rio Ferdinand's Kylian Mbappe claim

Rio Ferdinand has sent Manchester United fans wild after posting an old photograph of himself at Paris Saint-Germain’s training complex, joking that he had arrived to strike a deal for Kylian Mbappe.

Widespread reports claim the superstar has asked to leave the French champions for Real Madrid in January after deeming that promises from his contract had been broken.

The striker signed a lucrative new three-year deal in May amid intense speculation around his future, with suggestions that the contract contained clauses that allowed him to make calls in the boardroom.

This led to rumours that he had asked PSG chiefs to offload Neymar in the summer, something that is said to have caused a rift between the pair. Speaking on BT Sport on Tuesday night, Ferdinand sent a message to Mbappe.

“Kylian, we talk a lot. Just come to me,” he said. “Speak to me. I’ll do this for you man. Just come to me, we’ll do a one-to-one.”

Also on Tuesday, he jokingly posted a photo of himself at PSG’s headquarters on Instagram, writing: “#AgentFerdy landed for talks with @k.mbappe.” He later tagged United in the comments.

United fans were quick to respond to the post, with many begging the club to make a move for the 2018 World Cup winner.
