Manchester United fans rename Elland Road after Anthony Elanga following Leeds victory

Manchester United fans have taken to the internet to rename Elland Road following their impressive victory over Leeds.

United stormed in a two-goal lead in Yorkshire on Sunday after Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes both found the back of the net.

Leeds came out firing after half-time and quickly found themselves thanks to goals from Rodrigo and Raphinha.

Ralf Rangnick's men managed to regain their composure and super subs Fred and Anthony Elanga both scored to secure the three points.

Elanga had an eventful 23 minutes on the pitch at Elland Road. Before scoring he was struck on the head with what appeared to be an object thrown from the crowd in the aftermath of Fred's goal.

The 19-year-old would have the last laugh as he netted the decisive fourth.

In honour of his performance, United fans took to Wikipedia to rename Leeds' famous old ground.

The Elland Road page now reads: "Plans are currently afoot to increase the capacity of Elanga Road to 50,000."

The Swedish forward even has a stand named after him.

At the time of writing, the alterations to the stadium name remain and can be viewed here.
