Manchester United fans react to starting line-up vs West Ham as Harry Maguire starts

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick has named his starting line-up for Manchester United's huge Premier League tussle with West Ham United at Old Trafford this afternoon.

United, who beat the Hammers 2-1 in dramatic circumstances at the London Stadium back in September, will be looking to build on Wednesday evening's 3-1 triumph over Brentford and record back-to-back league wins for the second time since Rangnick took charge.

Despite producing a disjointed and lacklustre first half showing against the Bees, United went through the gears in the second half, securing all three points thanks to goals from Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and substitute Marcus Rashford.

Rangnick, who watched United go down 1-0 to Wolves in their last Premier League outing at Old Trafford, has made just one change to the side that beat Brentford, and it is enforced.

Victor Lindelof, who was the victim of a break-in at his home on Wednesday evening, has dropped out of the side and been replaced by Harry Maguire, who reclaims the captain's armband.

Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial and Rashford are amongst the substitutes, but Jadon Sancho is not involved once again.

Having made just the one change to his starting line-up, Rangnick will be hoping that it will not harm the progress his side made in the second half in west London just three days ago.

It is Maguire's return to the starting line-up that has attracted the most attention from United's supporters in the immediate aftermath of the team news being confirmed.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what some of United's supporters have had to say in response to the England international being reinstated to the side in Lindelof's absence.

As you can see from the messages displayed in the tweets above, Maguire's return to the side has not gone down overly well with some fans, some of whom have admitted that they would have preferred Phil Jones to start alongside Raphael Varane at centre-back.

United starting line-up: De Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Varane, Telles; Fred, McTominay, Fernandes; Greenwood, Ronaldo, Elanga.

Substitutes: Henderson, Jones, Lingard, Mata, Matic, Van de Beek, Cavani, Rashford, Martial.

This afternoon's contest at Old Trafford kicks-off at 3:00pm and you can follow all of the action live on our matchday blog, which you can access by clicking here.
