Manchester United fans react to starting line-up vs Everton as Paul Pogba benched

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick has named his starting line-up for Manchester United's Premier League showdown with relegation-threatened Everton at Goodison Park this lunchtime.

United, who were held to a 1-1 draw by the Toffees at Old Trafford back in October, will be looking to get back to winning ways and reignite their top-four push after last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Leicester City. The stalemate with Leicester left United seventh in the table at the end of the weekend and three points shy of Tottenham Hotspur in fourth.

Although a win for United this lunchtime would move them level on points with both Tottenham and Arsenal, they enter the clash with Frank Lampard's side in poor form. They have won just one of their last of their last six matches in all competitions and have picked up just five points from the last 12 on offer in the league.

Rangnick, who has only lost one league game away from home since taking charge in December, has made six changes to the side that drew with Leicester, three of which are enforced. Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba and Anthony Elanga have dropped out of the starting line-up, meaning Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Alex Telles, Nemanja Matic, Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo have come in.

Jesse Lingard, Pogba and Elanga are amongst the substitutes. However, the likes of Varane, Shaw and McTominay have not been included in the matchday squad because of injury.

Having made six changes to his team, Rangnick will be hoping that his decision to rotate his pack so much does not deny United the stability and good performance they're in need of. It is the omission of Pogba from the starting line-up that has attracted the most attention from United's supporters in the immediate aftermath of the team news being confirmed.

Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what some of United's supporters have had to say in response to Rangnick dropping the Frenchman.

As you can see from the messages displayed in the tweets above, United's fans believe the end of the road for Pogba at the club has been well and truly reached. He is out-of-contract in the summer and some United fans have highlighted how he has failed to earn a place in midfield.

United starting line-up: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles; Matic, Fred, Fernandes; Rashford, Ronaldo, Sancho.

United substitutes: Henderson, Heaton, Dalot, Jones, hannibal, Lingard, Mata, Pogba, Elanga.
