Manchester United have appointed Erik ten Hag as the club's next permanent manager. Now the club have decided who will be in the dugout at Old Trafford next season, thoughts within the fanbase have turned to who the club will sign.
Ten Hag won the Eredivisie last week with Ajax after an impressive season that also saw them perform well in the group stages of the Champions League. So of course United fans want the Dutch manager to bring some of his title-winning squad with him to Manchester.
Names the fans have suggested included Brazilian winger Antony and Ivorian striker Sebastien Haller who could help Ten Hag implement his system in United's attack. But there might be better options at Ajax in terms of defensive reinforcements.

The Daily Telegraph has linked United with a move for defender Lisandro Martinez while The Mirror has stated that Ten Hag could return for Jurrien Timber instead. They have arguably been the two best players for Ajax this season and they would be significant upgrades to the current squad.
Both defenders are incredibly versatile and strong on the ball. Timber is more comfortable on the right-hand side of the defence and can play at right centre-back or right-back, while Martinez is better playing the same positions on the left side of the pitch.
Martinez can also play at defensive midfield and that could be a wildcard option for Ten Hag to solve his problems in the number six role and replace Nemanja Matic. United fans are excited at the prospect of either defender moving to Old Trafford while some have even suggested that signing both wouldn't be unreasonable:
