Manchester United fans mock Arsenal over Lisandro Martinez after £37m offer made

Manchester United fans are getting excited with their club’s heightened transfer activity over the last week, with supporters praising their pursuit of Lisandro Martinez.

Erik ten Hag is closing in on Frenkie de Jong and Tyrell Malacia and is now looking at other targets. The club has reportedly held positive talks with Christian Eriksen and United have now also bid £37m for Lisandro Martinez.

United believe the fee will tempt Ajax into letting the player go, despite Arsenal seeing a similar offer rejected this week. The Argentine is thought to be interested in teaming up with Ten Hag again at Old Trafford.

Jurrien Timber has seemingly been put off from moving to Manchester after Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal said he could lose his World Cup squad place if he doesn’t get enough game time. Now, it appears the club have changed tack by going for Martinez.

Although no new signings have been announced yet, United fans have praised the club for their transfer pursuits so far. Reacting to the Martinez news, they relayed their excitement about United’s forays into the market.

@_snrubneb: Bit pricey but What. A. Player. The ETH revolution is on.

@surest_misan: NEGOTIATIONS. Damn I love Murtough.

@TimisRed: It's hijack season.

@cainsmithMU: Again, people might get annoyed but it’s smart again. Player wants us, and we’ve got a better relationship with Ajax. Good to start low and try and offer as much with add-ons as possible, then work upwards.

@TarunKhatta: Damn we're doin' serious business though.
