Manchester United fans make Cristiano Ronaldo demand to Erik ten Hag

Manchester United fans believe Cristiano Ronaldo must start against Brentford on Sunday.

Despite having no other natural striker available due to an injury suffered by Anthony Martial, Erik ten Hag opted to start Christian Eriksen in the centre-forward position against Brighton on the opening weekend over Ronaldo due to his lack of match fitness. The move backfired massively as United slipped to a 2-1 defeat to the Seagulls.

United really need to get their first three points on the board when they face Brentford as after that comes Liverpool but they will still be without Martial, who is yet to recover from his hamstring strain. Thankfully, Ten Hag has confirmed that Ronaldo is now ready to start, however, he remained coy on whether he actually would.

"So he had a good training week," Ten Hag said of Ronaldo. "I thought he played a little bit longer than half an hour, he's had two half games and for the starting XI we will see tomorrow. My decision (on whether he starts), I keep it.

"Martial will not be available and Victor Lindelof as well, not for this weekend."

While Ten Hag refused to be drawn on whether Ronaldo will make his starting XI, after a disruptive summer in which he missed the bulk of pre-season amid his desire to leave Old Trafford, some supporters are of no doubt that the No.7 should play.
