Manchester United fans left bemused by Tom Brady's Glazers acknowledgement

Manchester United fans have been left bemused by Tom Brady's retirement post thanking the Tampa Bay Buccaneers owners the Glazer family.

On Tuesday, the seven-time Super Bowl champion called time on his 22-year career in the NFL with a farewell message.

His goodbye drew attention from New England Patriost fans - a franchise where he enjoyed success - as well as thanking his current teammates.

But it alerted a number of United fans, for all the wrong reasons.

A section of the statement saw tributes paid to the Reds hierarchy, as he said on Twitter : "To the Glazer family, thank you for taking a chance on me and supporting me.

"I know I was demanding at times, but you provided everything we needed to win, and your ownership was everything a player could ask for."

The comments were met with dissatisfaction by the United fans who questioned the praise for the Bucs ownership after a number of objections from fans.

For a number of years, there has been a campaign against the American's ownership with fractures worsening after their involvement in the failed European Super Cup proposals.

In the aftermath of Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013, United's standards and success have gradually dipped with the wait for a Premier League crown likely to extend to a ninth year upon the conclusion of the current campaign.
